Music Monday!

I haven’t heard much new since I have been off on vacation. So I decided to put together some tracks that we listened to that really helped us on our drive across this great nation of ours. Now understand, these are from a communal iPod that was in the truck. So it’s a wide range to get something for everyone. The only genre I don’t think we really listen to is country. “How can that be Fear you live in cowboy country??” This is true, and MDI listens to Dixie Chicks… that’s as far as I will go. I do have a guilty pleasure in Garth Brooks’ No Fences album. Get me drunk, and I’ll sing a tune or two. lol.

Bill Withers – Lean On Me

So this tune came on while we were driving back. The significance of it is that we all started singing it together. It was like something straight out of a movie. Sun was starting to go down, we all broke into song, slowly building up together. It was one of the best parts of the whole trip. Which goes to tell you something. A truck with family is a wonderful thing.

Mark Ronson – Uptown Funk ft. Bruno Mars

This one is a fav of the kids and always fun to jam out while cruising down the highway. Logan would get right into it every time it came on.

Nero – Promises (Skrillex Remix)

This is another favourite of Logan’s that has become a staple anytime we are in the car. It rattles the earth in my truck.

Alice In Chains – Nutshell – Unplugged

This track is one of my all time favs. And the unplugged version is amazing. If you haven’t seen the Unplugged concert of Alice In Chains, Nirvana or Pearl Jam… what are you waiting for??

Nick Jonas – Chains

This was Alex’s pick any time she could get us to play it. Never thought I would be a fan of a Jonas brother. But Nick is very talented. I became a fan after watching the first season one of Kingdom. If you haven’t seen it you should. Especially if you are a fan of MMA.

Sia – Elastic Heart feat. Shia LaBeouf & Maddie Ziegler

The video is a little weird, but I kinda dig it. This was MDI’s pick on the trip. She really loves this tune.

Ed Sheeran – Tenerife Sea

This one was Razar’s pick. We have all been really impressed with this album. Check it out if you haven’t.

The Amity Affliction – The Weigh Down

There wasn’t a lot of heavy music played, didn’t want a mosh pit to break out in the truck but this and the one below were played and some of my favourites. Have a great day, pump these tunes to help you get through the Monday blues.

Killswitch Engage – Fixation On The Darkness

And yes with Jesse. That’s how I prefer my KsE… just saying.
