Halloween Pussy Trap Kill Kill – A Film Review

Halloween Pussy Trap Kill Kill – A Film Review

In the grand tradition of 70’s slasher flicks comes a modern homage to the disco-era’s campy and often exploitative content. Halloween Pussy Trap Kill Kill is story of an all-girl punk rock band titled “Kill, Pussy, Kill”, who while on their way to perform a Halloween gig, quickly find themselves abandoned, captured, and forced to participate in a twisted SAW-like series of challenges in order to escape the nightmarish maze of an Ex-Forces Veteran with a severe chip on his shoulder, who is voiced by the brilliant Dave Mustaine(Metallica, Megadeth).

Writer/Director Jared Cohn(Death Pool, The Domicile) takes a tremendous amount of liberties with this film, and frankly it was nice to see. Cohn’s typical fashion has a much darker and realistic undertone, however this time it was pleasant to see a more nostalgic and off-beat approach. What the film steered away from in regards to intensity, it more than made up for with slapstick humor and a really fun and energetic cast.

Leading the cast is Demetrius Stear(Death Pool, Evil Nanny) as DJ Speed, and as a long time creative partner of Cohn it was of absolutely no surprise to see Stear once again steel the show. In a much more colorful character than fans of Stear’s work may be used to, it was exciting to see him portray such an extremely energetic hero/anti-hero.

Sara Malakul Lane(The Domicile) joins the team as Amber Stardust. Lane keeps the role light and breezy, as one would expect in this type of picture. Supported by a fantastic ensemble including Nicole Sterling, Kelly Lynn Reiter, Kelly McCart, and Tristen Ott.

The legendary Richard Grieco(21 Jump Street, A Night at the Roxbury) also graces this presentation as Dale, the villain’s aggressive and loyal henchman. It goes without saying that it was unexpected to see Mr. Grieco in this film, but his experience and casualness that he brought to the screen was a huge bonus for this film.

All in all it was just a fun movie, simply put. It was the perfect storm of laughter, gore, vintage camp, and energy. As always Cohn and Cleopatra Entertainment, thank you for a very entertaining time.

Well done, Mr. Cohn.
